Naledzi Environmental Consultants has diversified areas of specialisation to an extent that the company has now completed a number of projects ranging from impact assessment, waste management plans, environmental management plans, environmental policy development, cleaner production assessments, environmental training and construction through the expanded public works principles.

The projects listed below are an extract of recent projects that the company has worked on:
Appointed, implemented and successfully completed the Batlhabine Soil Conservation Project on behalf of the Department of Environmental Affairs. The project was implemented as part of the DEAT’s SRPP Expanded Public Works Projects. It involved the planting of indigenous plant species and Vetiver grass to combat soil erosion. Gabion structures were also used.
Appointed, implemented and successfully completed the Working for the Coast Project on behalf of the Department of Environmental Affairs on the Working for the Coast Project in Port Elizabeth. Just like the above mentioned project, it involves the use of labour intensive methods of rehabilitating sand dunes, building boardwalks and an intensive litter picking along the beach, disposing of waste material at a designated landfill site.
Appointed, implemented and successfully completed the rehabilitation of wetlands throughout the North West Province on behalf of the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI).
These projects also involve the use of labour intensive methods to rehabilitate wetlands, under the expanded public works programme. The project reporting structures and its implementation is almost the same as the one used by the Department of Environmental Affairs.
Appointed by the Limpopo Provincial Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism together with Coastal and Environmental Services to compile or develop a State of Environment Report Phase II for the Limpopo Province. The project entailed the development of environmental indicators in the province, which will be used during implementation of environmental projects and during monitoring of environmental change in the province.
Appointed, implemented and successfully completed a Cleaner Production Assessment Project on behalf of the CSIR/NCPC in the Gauteng and Kwazulu Natal Provinces. The project involves the assessment of production methods employed by the companies and recommend waste, water and energy saving techniques.
Appointed by the Limpopo Provincial Department of Roads and Transport to conduct a feasibility study and compile Environmental Management Plans for the use of borrow pits (small scale mining) during road re-gravelling in the Limpopo Province.
Appointed by the Royal Bafokeng Administration to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment study for the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace (Stadium) in preparation for the 2010 World Cup Soccer Tournament, Rustenburg.
Appointed by Moses Kotane Local Municipality to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the establishment of Pella Sports Park (which included the establishment of spectator stands, track fields, tennis courts, parking areas, etc) in the Bojanala District of the North West Province.
Appointed by Eskom Transmission to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the construction of 30km 2x400kV Power Lines from Glockner (near Vaal Triangle) substation to Etna (near Soweto) substation in the Gauteng Province. The project required an intensive public participation process because of the diversity of people residing in the area and a lot of technical/specialist involvement.
Appointed by Eskom Transmission to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the construction of 7km 2x275kV Power Lines from Etna substation to a proposed new substation in Mondeaur area of the Gauteng Province. The project required an intensive public participation process because of the diversity of people residing in the area.
Appointed by Eskom Distribution to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the construction of a combination of infrastructure development (16km 132kV power line, substation and feeder bays) in the Khutala, Kendal and Argent areas of the Mpumalanga Province.
Appointed by Eskom Distribution to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the construction of a combination of infrastructure (100mx100m substation, 88kV Chickadee lines, 132kV Feeder Bay and a telecommunication tower) in the Ermelo area of the Mpumalanga Province.
Appointed by Eskom Distribution to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the construction of a 100mx100m proposed Botlokwa Substation and associated 14km 132kV Power line from the existing Tabor Substation to Botlokwa in the Limpopo Province.
Appointed by Eskom Distribution to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the construction of a 2.5km 132kV Power Line from the existing Jane Furse to Uchoba Power Line in the Sekhukhune District of the Limpopo Province.
Appointed by Eskom Distribution to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the construction of a 50km 132kV Power Line from Venulu Substation to Makonde Substation in the Vhembe District of the Limpopo Province.
Appointed by Eskom Distribution to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the construction of a 19km 132kV Power Line from Mapoch Substation to Simplon Substation in the Roosenekal area of the Mpumalanga Province.
Appointed by Eskom Distribution to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the construction of a 9km 132kV Power Line from Goedgevonden Substation to a proposed Grootpan Substation in the Ogies area of the Mpumalanga Province.
Appointed by the Royal Bafokeng Administration to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the establishment of Lebone II College of the royal Bafokeng in Rustenburg.
Appointed by the Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism to develop a Phase II State of Environment Report for the Limpopo Province. The Phase II State of Environment Report was launched in November 2006.
Appointed by the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism to implement a Soil Conservation Project (construction of gabion structures and planting of indigenous plant species) in the Batlhabine area of the Greater Tzaneen Local Municipality, Mopani District of the Limpopo Province.
Appointed by the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism to implement an Alien Plant Species eradication programme on top of the Soutpansberg Mountains, as part of the Soutpansberg Biosphere Reserve Initiative, Makhado Local Municipality of the Vhembe District.
Appointed by the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the construction of water pipelines and related infrastructure along the Great Letaba Dam, Limpopo Province.
Appointed by the National Cleaner Production Centre to carry out In-Plant Environmental Assessment at an existing Hudson and Knights Oil and Fats Refinery Plant in the Gauteng Province.
Appointed by Akasia Road Surfacing to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment for the establishment of a Macadam/Tar Processing Plant in Phokeng, Rustenburg area of the North West Province.
Completed an Environmental Impact Assessment for the Apex Sewer Reticulation Network in Benoni, for the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng Province.
Appointed by Madibeng Local Municipality to conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment for the upgrading of Klipgat Cemetery. The EIA was completed and the reports approved by the Department of Agriculture, Conservation, Environment and Tourism
